Round Up the Usual Suspects
Hello Dear Friends:
It’s been some time since I last sent out a “Tales From Hollywood and Vine” blog. This doe not mean that I’ve ceased being your favorite “Hollywood Brat.” Far from it! In addition to spending an inordinate amount of time vetting COVID-19 research protocols and writing tons of political essays, I’ve also become part of a new film venture: EDIFY. There is a new online lecture service called “EDIFY,” sponsored by Florida Atlantic University . . . one of the places I do film classes. Months and months ago they asked if I would create a filmic version of one of my “Behind the Silver Screen” lectures . . . complete with yours truly and lots of clips and photographs. They came to me first as sort of a test case to see if it their idea could work. I said yes and then went to town on a lecture about the making of “Casablanca.” Well, after months of filming and editing, its up and running!
I am delighted to inform you first. You can find it online at edify.fau.edu Once you get to the site, you can go to “about,” and “subscribe” and then on to my lecture. Please note, this is a subscription site that contains dozens upon dozens of lectures in a whole host of disciplines. A subscription is a mere $10.00 a month, and you can cancel at any time you wish.
I hope you will get a chance to see my lecture. It was a pleasure to make and - in my humble opinion - turned out really well. If you have any questions or difficulties, you can always contact the creators of this website at edify@fau.edu or give the office a call at 561-297-3185.
Please let me know if you get a chance to see my lecture . . .
